Adult volunteers at Bishop are needed. One can either do paper work for a teacher or more importantly work with students on an individual or small group basis. Volunteers can work on a daily basis, volunteer once a week, volunteer periodically, or do work at home when spare time occurs.

A sampling of Bishop volunteer opportunities include:

  1. Being a reader/listener in "Everybody Wins" Lunchtime Reading program.
  2. Serving as a library media center clerk, shelving books and other tasks.
  3. Serving as a classroom volunteer.
  4. working in the school office.
  5. Assisting with bulletin boards around the school.
  6. Working in the teacher's workroom to copy items, laminate materials, make posters and/or cut out lettering.

The kind of volunteers needed to best serve students include:

  • Physical--experts on landscaping, painting, etc.
  • Educational--individuals who would work with students on reading, math facts, homework, etc.
  • Emotional--volunteers who would be a lunch mentor, program attender, etc.
