Description

Bishop PTO are parents and staff who volunteer time to organize events and fundraisers for Bishop. Bishop PTO is one of the "social" arms of Bishop, hosting many school community events.

Bishop Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Bishop Library Media Center. All families enrolled at Bishop automatically become Bishop PTO members. Everyone in the Bishop community is welcome to attend PTO meetings.

With school budget cuts, Bishop PTO has paid for many things for the school and classrooms that were a part of district funding.

Some items that Bishop PTO is funding annually include:

  • $200 per full-time teachers for the extra classroom supplies, incentives, and rewards
  • $100 per half-time teachers for the extra classroom supplies, incentives, and rewards
  • $150 Strings and Band allotment
  • $1500 Transportation costs for class field trips
  • $500 Chalk One Up for Summer Reading supplies

Bishop PTO also funds incentives.

A sampling of other sponsored events include:

  • Annual Carnival
  • Bishop Night at Sonic
  • Bishop Night at Chuck E. Cheese Pizza
  • Periodic all-school Roller Skating Parties

Bishop PTO is an important organization at Bishop. It requires time and effort from all parents. Suggestions and comments are always welcome. You are encouraged to make a lasting impact through Bishop PTO.
